Mother Hubbard’s was established in 1991 and has been a popular stop off for fish and chips ever since it opened.
Andrew and Emma have owned the business since 1993 and worked hard at providing the Best quality Fish n chips with only the best natural ingriedients and we have our own main crop Markie potatoes grown just down the road at Clay Pit Farm Necton they also grow our early new crop Maris Bard for us they are naturaly grown without irrigation and left to grow as the seasons dictate which gives them flavour we then fry them in Beef Dripping to give them that yummy taste .
We offer a takeaway and restaurant service with our fish and chips. Our restaurant has a seating capacity of 52, so is ideal for coach parties who want to stop in Swaffham. Our restaurant is popular with the coaches that go to Thursford Christmas Shows, as they are passing through Swaffham, and it allows them a stop for the whole coach to have food and drink in one place.
Mother Hubbard’s entered the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition from 2008, and has been placed in the top 5, in 2008, 2009 & 2012 for being one of the top 5 fish and chip shops in Eastern England, which covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire & Rutland . We were judged to be a top 50 fish and chip shop in the country in 2014 by Fry Magazine .

As well as our National Fish and Chip Shop Award, we have also been awarded the Breckland Good Food Hygiene award 10 times until the hygiene rating started then we maintained 5 stars & every time since. We will be going for a Sea Fish Award and aiming to achieve a 5 star rating in 2017. Watch this space for results!……..
