Mother Hubbard’s was established in 1991 and has been a popular stop off for fish and chips ever since it opened.
Andrew and Emma have owned the business since 1993, and Andrew's son Matthew has been managing the shop since 2006. Matthew started working for the business when he was 13 years old, as a Saturday boy, and has progressed through the years. Matthew has achieved qualifications in Business Retail Management.Matthew is 101% passionate about fish & chips as well as Mother Hubbards it's self. He always goes the extra mile to ensure he satisfies your every need.
We offer a takeaway and restaurant service with our fish and chips. Our restaurant has a seating capacity of 52, so is ideal for coach parties who want to stop in Swaffham. Our restaurant is popular with the coaches that go to Thursford Christmas Shows, as they are passing through Swaffham, and it allows them a stop for the whole coach to have food and drink in one place.
Mother Hubbard’s entered the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition in 2008. We won the award for being one of the top 5 fish and chip shops on Eastern England in the area of Norfolk and Suffolk.
We have entered again in 2009 to see what we achieve this year, so let’s hope we can do better than 2008!

As well as our National Fish and Chip Shop Award, we have also been awarded the Breckland Good Food Hygiene Award for the past 10 years. We will be going for a Sea Fish Award and aiming to achieve a 5 star rating.
